Insolvency refers to a situation where organisations are unable to meet their financial obligations.

In view of the failure of earlier regime i.e SICA, SARFAESI etc, based on the recommendation of the BLRC committee, Indian parliament passed Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code 2016 for resolution of corporate persons, partnership firms and individuals in a time bound manner for maximization of value of assets of such persons, to promote entrepreneurship, availability of credit and balance the interests of all the stakeholders.
